Originally Dungeon was simply the name for the Dungeon that Ryker created located on the farm and surrounding lands which he owned. As the dungeon became more well-known, a City grew up around the dungeon entrance. As no other name was established, the population simply chose to call the city Dungeon, as well.
During Ryker's visit to the capital city of Dale, Queen Lauren appointed Ryker as the Count of Dungeon, and established the area which he owned as a separate County, under direct control of the Queen.
