Despite working for the St Anthony Coven, Irene is not a vampire. She was the subject of a witch's ritual designed to rip out her soul to power a spell, but disrupted the ritual and was cursed with immortality. She stole the deceased witch's spell books and taught herself witchcraft. Despite successfully disrupting the ritual, her soul is not firmly tethered to her body, and is visible to Sam and Jes as planar beings. Irene's soul is very open about asking for Sam to have his way with it, which occasionally leads to Irene's chagrin. Irene was captured as part of the St Anthony operation for Alison, and given the opportunity to work for Jes. After due consideration, Irene accepted and became the team's resident witch. |

Irene is a very successful combat mage for the Inc-Suc PMC. She accompanies Sam on his mission to retrieve the Log. Irene is not part of the primary team that protects Mitch, but is part of the support and extraction team after the attack on the school. During Sam's confrontation with the Lich, Irene attacks her. While surprised by the attack Caer responds by trying to take over Irene's physical form. Irene's soul attacks Caer's. In the physical realm Caer's Lich powers were superior to Irene's witch powers and she was losing the contest. Caer was taking on some of Irene's physical features. In the contest of souls, Irene proved stronger, and subdued Caer, although the combined soul now has Caer and Irene's heads, and Caer apparently has control of the left arm. With their combined bodies, Irene is now about 5'8", has a much larger bust, her hair is a mixture of copper and black, and she has one dark blue eye, and one light blue eye. She can also use both her witch and lich powers. After the merge, Sam can hear both the Caer and Irene side of her soul, which is amusing because they are completely unfiltered in their commentary. Irene is part of the armory raid, and her soul helps Tiffany and Wren keep from passing over when they are killed. Irene is part of the team at the Essence production facility and is one of the ones trapped in the cage with Sam. She is able to gate them out when the planar block is lifted. She finds out later that she is pregnant from the experience. |
