An incubus trapped on his own plane, betrayed by his first imp, gets a second chance to prolong his existence and a choice to do things differently this time around when a distant granddaughter to the woman he once loved summons him to ask for help.

After his centuries of imprisonment, Sam's return to the Prime plane is a catalyst to become more human, and less of an emotionless demon. Summoned by Abigail, the many greats granddaughter of Sam's former lover Alisa, she requests his help with getting her life on track. Abigail is burdened with school debt from a Master's Degree which she's been unable to use, and stuck in a customer service job that doesn't even pay her bills. Sam makes a contract with her and works to help solve her troubles. Along the way he finds others to help support him in his efforts, both to fulfill contracts and to stay on the Prime Plane. As the group grows they take opportunities to strike out at the empire Jenaphila has made. |

Further efforts are made to expand Sam's contracts, and Jes works hard to build their newly minted Inter-planar PMC, Inc-Suc. They work to track down the artifact known as "The Log" at the request of Reixhitz. During this journey they encounter Seville briefly, and are redirected to the plane of Retribution. Immediately running from monsters, they take refuge in a nearby fort. Shortly after they are approached by The Judge and a group of others with her. Sam negotiates for The Log and binds The Judge to him. |
